Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the more modern form of acupuncture diagnosis. Treatment plans encompass acupuncture, herbal treatment, cupping as needed and, lifestyle management.
The Five-Element Theory & Acupuncture
The Five-Element Theory is an ancient Taoist form of acupuncture that treats the whole person, body, mind, emotions and spirit. Each patient is viewed and treated according to their own unique “signature”. Five element treatment plans at Peaceful Spirit include acupuncture, lifestyle management and very often Qi Gong education to do at home which can prolong the benefits. In both styles, health and well-being depend on balancing the body restoring the smooth flow of Qi (energy) along meridians (energy pathways) throughout the body. As you can see, acupuncture is just one component of the much larger puzzle that is Chinese Medicine. These things, when combined with one another, represent a powerful means of healing various ailments, backed by thousands of years of Chinese research and experimentation as well as European and American research over the past 30 years as this form of medicine has gained popularity in the west.
